With the #reddit exodus, I'm considering self hosting my own personal use #lemmy or #kbin install and just subbing to external communities. Has anyone tried this? Recommendations between the two? Is it good or bad practice?
This would be in addition to my public mastodon instance. I wouldn't open this lemmy/kbin to other people. If I want to make my own community I'd make a separate public lemmy/kbin instance
Leftist Network is an instance of Mastodon, the social network of the future: No ads, no corporate surveillance, ethical design, and decentralization! This Mastodon instance is designed for those with Leftist politics to share posts with each other. We strongly recommend using secure and decentralized communications for your private discussions, and we have recommendations!
